How to Take Medicine
Tadalafil should be taken as directed with a glass of water, either with or without a meal. You should try and take this medicine about 45 to 60 minutes before engaging in sexual activity.
If you have taken an overdose (or suspect you have), then immediately contact your local emergency room. Never share this medicine with anybody else, because this has been specified for you only.
Missing a Dose
If you miss a dose, then do not worry, just continue to take it again as normal. However, never take two tablets in one day to make up for missing one.
If I Want To Take This Tablet What Should I Tell My Doctor?
Your doctor needs to know the following information if you want to take this tablet:
- Vision problems, including retinitis pigmentosa
- Heart problem, angina, a history of heart problems in your family, an irregular heartbeat or any other heart condition
- Strange blood pressure
- Any Kidney or Liver problems
- History of strokes
- Allergies (this includes other medicines, foods, dyes or preservatives)
- If you blood pressure is either high or low
- If you have had any problems with your kidney or liver
- If there is a history of strokes in your family
Drug Interactions
Tadalafil cannot be taken with the following:
- Nitrate medicine (for example, dinitrate and nitroglycerin)
If you are taking any of these medications, then please inform your doctor:
- High blood pressure medication
- HIV or AIDS medications
- Yeast or fungal infection medications
- Any medication for seizures
- Grapefruit juice
- Macrolide antibiotics
- Rifampin, Rifapentine or Rifabutin
- Prostate medication
It is important to make sure you tell your doctor all your medications and lifestyle habits, for any medication you take.
Precautions
When taking this medicine there are a few things you should look out for:
- Changes to vision (including loss of, or blurriness)
- Erection lasts for more than 4 hours
- Nausea, Dizziness, arm pain or chest pains
If you experience one of the top two, then make sure you stop taking the medication and contact your doctor right away.
If you experience other symptoms then stop taking your medication and inform your doctor when it is convenient.
Whilst on this medication do not drink excessively, because excess alcohol consumption can lead to nausea, dizziness, pains, aches and even an increase or decrease to your heart rate.
Using this medication does not protect you or your partner from HIV or AIDS, therefore, make sure you use the necessary protection.
Side Effects
As with all medications there is a small chance that you may experience side effects:
- Allergic reactions
- Loss of hearing or tinnitus
- Irregular heartbeat
- Breathing problems
- Chest pain
If you experience any of these side effects above, stop taking the medication and inform your doctor as soon as possible.
Other side effects may include:
- Flushing
- Headache
- Runny Nose
- Aches
- Back pain
- Dizziness
- Indigestion
If you experience one of these side effects then you can continue to take the medication as long as it is recommended. In an instance where any one of these side effects becomes annoying contact your doctor.

Storage
As with all medications keep it out of the reach of children and at room temperature. If you still have some tablets left over then please dispose of carefully or hand over to your doctor who will dispose them for you.
